Frequently Asked Questions
-
How often should I take lessons?
I recommend taking at least one lesson per week. Singing is a motor skill, so repetition is key for reinforcing what we've learned. For beginners, taking a lesson once a week and setting up a vocal routine for yourself, with 15-minute daily practice sessions, will be much more effective. This way, you can track the progress of your voice regularly.
-
Is there a requirement for regular attendance? Should I set fixed lesson days?
Setting fixed lesson days helps with planning, but life can sometimes change our schedules, so flexibility is important. I confirm the next week’s lessons with my students each week, and if any changes are needed, we make them. Changes can be made up to 24 hours in advance, but I don’t cancel or reschedule lessons on the same day unless it’s an emergency.
-
What do we do in the lessons?
Each lesson is tailored to the student's needs. First, we set a goal together and work toward it. Along with technical development, we'll also work on strengthening your vocal expression.
-
What is vocal expression?
The voice is a powerful tool for communication. We instinctively receive a lot of information from a person’s voice, not only about who they are but also their emotions, health, what they want to say, and underlying meanings. When singing comes into play, both the singer and the listener create a cyclical chain of expression.
Vocal expression is the area where we convey our emotions, thoughts, and everything we want to express through our voice. This includes vocal technique, style, rhythm, timbre, and connecting with the body and emotions. Once we’ve learned the song, it’s this element that sets us apart from others, and from our past selves.
-
What do I need for online lessons?
For online lessons, we use Zoom with the "Original Sound" feature enabled. This ensures the voice is transmitted correctly. It’s enough to have Zoom installed on your computer. For the best sound quality, make sure you're in a quiet space with a good internet connection.

-
I’ve never sung before, which option is right for me?
If you want to take regular lessons and improve your voice and singing skills, vocal lessons would be the best choice. In these lessons, we’ll explore your voice while also working on technical development.
However, if you have a clear goal and want to focus on specific topics through a question-and-answer style with guidance, a vocal coaching session may be ideal for shorter, goal-oriented work.
-
I’m a professional singer, which option is better for me?
If you're looking for one-off or a few sessions for advice, I recommend vocal coaching. This could be for specific issues like a recording, concert, or a specific vocal technique.
However, if you'd like long-term support and to progress with a bit more guidance, vocal lessons would also be a good choice. In lessons, we can work in more depth, but whether you need continuity or not will determine your choice. The main difference is the duration of the sessions and the corresponding cost. Regardless of your choice, we’ll plan the content together.
